Breakthrough Communications are NALC's National Partner for advice, guidance and services on parish and town council communications and engagement, and Data Protection, GDPR and Freedom of Information. The experienced team at Breakthrough Communications understand what good communication and effective compliance look like. As a team of communications professionals, including councillors and clerks, Breakthrough Communications also has insight into the unique world of parish and town councils.

Course Description:

During this session we will explore various AI technologies that can significantly streamline the workload of clerks and officers, leading to more efficient and effective communication.

Participants will hear about practical, actionable insights from the AI sector and view onscreen live demonstrations equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills to implement these innovative tools in their council's operations.

We will cover effective prompting and how it unlocks the full potential of AI, enabling it to generate insightful, creative, and highly specific outputs. Crafting prompts for AI goes beyond giving simple instructions and the structure of your prompts plays a crucial role in influencing the quality and accuracy of AI responses.

We will be looking at image and video generation, textual content generation. The specific tools we will be referring to include ChatGPT, Canva, Claude, Perplexity, Microsoft CoPilot.
